  Intensified Malaria Control Program-II (IMCP-II) under GFATM Round 9

Tripura is one of the malaria prone areas in the North Eastern Region of the Country. To combat malaria Voluntary Health Association of Tripura (VHAT) has been implementing Intensified Malaria Control Program (IMCP – II) under GFATM Round 9 since May 2011 as Sub Sub Recipient (SSR) of Caritas India Consortium. VHAT is working in the state of Tripura as a partner of Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI), who is the Sub Recipient (SR) of IMCP – II Project.

Objectives of the project :
1. To achieve near universal coverage by 2015 by effective preventive intervention with LLIN for population living in high risk project areas arround 41% (2009 -10)

2. To achieve at least 80% coverage by parasitological diagnosis and prompt effective treatment of Malaria through public and private health care delivery systems in project areas by 2015.

3. To achieve at least 80% coverage of village in project areas by appropriate BCC activities by 2015 to improve knowledge, awareness and responsive behavior with regard to effective preventive and curative malaria control intervention

4. To strengthen the health systems through trainings, capacity building to improve service delivery in project areas.

B. Training for the CHVs and ASHAs: VHAT conducted training programs for the Community Health Volunteers and ASHAs for their capacity building on control of malaria. In total 8 trainings conducted for 222 CHVs and 41 trainings conducted for 1154 ASHAs.
